Event will be available live-in person + virtually via zoom.

Following the success of the virtual conversations begun in 2020 at the Together But Apart – Conference on Touring Theatre in Northern Ontario and continued throughout 2021-22 we are pleased to gather in-person for the first time during PlaySmelter 2023.

Our conversation continues to be an opportunity to bring both the emerging and existing theatre community together for conversation and collective brainstorming. This gathering offers the opportunity to hear inspiring success stories and participate in collaborative problem-solving. It’s a meeting place where everyone is welcome; a chance for us all to develop professionally and build new partnerships.

During the gathering we will be sharing an exciting new project that has been created as a result of the previous conversations and which will be piloted in 2024.

Theatre is a collaborative, multi-disciplinary art form. It is imperative that we have participation from those involved in other arts disciplines; we firmly believe that the more silos we can break down, the stronger we will all be. We welcome and invite everyone involved in the arts in Northern Ontario to attend: Presenters, producers, artists, curators, performers, creators, volunteers, venue staff – anyone who is interested in seeing more Northern Ontario stories shared in Northern Ontario communities.

Thanks goes to the Canadian Heritage for their continued support in delivering this event.
