Matthew Heiti

Matthew is a writer, director, performer and teacher, born and living in Sudbury. He holds a BFA in Acting from Ryerson University and an MA in Creative Writing from the University of New Brunswick. His produced plays include Receiver of Wreck (PlaySmelter), Plague: a love [sic] story (Crestfallen),  Black Dog: 4 vs the wrld, and Mucking in the Drift (Sudbury Theatre Centre). He teaches Creative Writing at Laurentian University, and has served as Playwright-in-residence with STC and Pat the Dog Theatre Creation, where he helped to create both the Playwrights Junction and the PlaySmelter Festival. His latest play premiered this winter at STC, as Ever Falling Flight, and at Le TNO, as Aéroportée (translation by Miriam Cusson). In his spare time he is usually working.

Marc Donato

Marc Donato is a songwriter and composer in the north who has crafted sound design for theatre productions, Plague and Receiver of Wreck.  He has created music scores and soundscapes for the short films of Ben Bruhmuller, many of which have showcased at film Festivals across North America including the most recent feature, Tanglewood.  Other credits include multidisciplinary art installations Air Quotes, which was a performance including the collaboration of film makers, producers and musicians and Brokedowntown, with the collaboration of theatre, audio and visual art.  While he’s not working on someone else’s project, he is writing rock and roll for his band Shaky Stars.

All admission is PWYC (suggested $15) at the door and unreserved.

Festival Passes are $60. Includes: Reserved admission to all events and a $20 gift certificate to Playwrights Canada Press On-Site Table.
