PLAYSMELTER FESTIVAL

PlaySmelter on the Move!

PlaySmelter, Northern Ontario’s only festival dedicated to new works of contemporary Canadian Theatre, is on the move! Starting in 2025 we are hitting the Northern Roads to pitch our playwrights’ tents throughout Northern Ontario.

First up is Timmins where we’re sharing the stage with The Tamarack Festival – a Festival that we have been proud to mentor.

Pat the Dog Theatre Creation and the PlaySmelter Festival would like to acknowledge that we are in Robinson-Huron Treaty territory and the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Atikameksheng Anishnaabeg.

Playsmelter’s Lisa O’Connell and the Tamarack Festival’s Jessie Bergeron were recently interviewed by CBC Radio’s Up North program.
